28 Years Later drops scariest trailer of the year

James Whitehead

The second trailer has dropped for the long-awaited sequel to ‘28 Days Later’ and ‘28 Weeks Later’, promising more of the zombie attacks and societal collapse that made the first installments so terrifying. Danny Boyle returns to direct; the cast is led by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes.

Watch the new trailer for ‘28 Years Later’ at your own peril, right here.

The newest trailer does a wonderful job of bringing back a lot of the most loved themes and elements from the series whilst teasing a new cast and story. Once again, the strength of the world created in the first two has been built-on wonderfully to show us a different dimension to a lot of zombie/apocalyptic films. By having such a large jump in time since the last film was set, it creates so much intrigue into the status quo of the world and how things have developed since the events of the last film.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson looks wonderful in the lead as this survivalist father, taking his son out to test what he has learnt within their compound. What will they learn and uncover once they’re on the mainland? What has mankind done to survive all this time? All these questions posed in the new trailer have really increased my anticipation for the sequel, which is set to be released in UK cinemas, on the 20th of June.
