Liam Neeson channels his best Leslie Neilsen as he leads the new Naked Gun film playing the late, great actor’s son, Frank Drebin Jr. This new entry in the classic comedy franchise looks to build on the previous films with a whole new legacy cast, filled with the children of our previous leads as they both literally and metaphorically attempt to step into the shoes of those who have come before them.

Releasing on the 1st of August, it marks the first film from the series since Naked Gun 33 1/3 which released in 1994. Whilst the gags and humour seem to have remained the same, this new film Is being released into a completely different landscape, with big budget comedies being far and few between. Certainly, a risk. But an extremely welcome one, as audiences have been starved of a good quality comedy for years. The credibility of Liam Neeson and other castmates will hopefully help to convince audiences to buy their tickets and show their support for this struggling genre.
Ultimately the film could be good or disappointing, but its great for the industry to see people taking a risk with comedy again.
